Business Involvement
Many businesses in the Jewellery Quarter sponsor lamppost baskets or flowers, which are displayed outside their shops. Without their support, it would be extremely difficult to secure sufficient funding to participate in the competition.
A full list of our sponsors will be published shortly.
Shops occupying some of Birmingham City Council’s Property Service’s buildings along Vyse Street agreed to support the In Bloom campaign, along with the City Council by planting the brick planters outside their shops with summer bedding. One planter contains permanent, tropical plants to promote sustainability.
St Paul’s Square Planting Event
The Jewellery Quarter Regeneration Partnership invited volunteers from the Birmingham Assay Office to participate in a planting event in St Paul’s Square. Nine volunteers participated in the planting of the ‘Anchor’ planters on Thursday 18th June, assisted by Mike Currie and Emma McAuliffe from Birmingham City Council Parks & Gardens.
