City Centre & Jewellery Quarter In Bloom 2009
The Jewellery Quarter has taken part in the Regional Heart of England In Bloom initiative since 2006, winning a Neighbourhood Award in 2006 and a Silver Gilt Award in 2007 as part of the Urban Regeneration category. In 2007, the Jewellery Quarter joined forces with the Birmingham City Centre Floral Trail, which not only won a Gold Award in the Urban Regeneration category, but was also nominated for the National Britain In Bloom competition in 2009. Jewellery Quarter In Bloom initiatives are supported by the Ladywood Ward – Community Chest Funding. To find out more about the projects that this funding has supported click here
In Bloom is a campaign aimed at creating a better environment for everybody to enjoy, but it isn’t simply about flowers! We want to help make Birmingham a beautiful and clean place to live: -
- In Bloom is about making lasting improvements to the environment that benefit local people and give better impressions for our visitors.
- It is also about encouraging people of all ages to get involved in their local community – through many different environmental and educational activities.
The Floral Trail extends from the City Centre into the heart of the Jewellery Quarter.

The In Bloom Theme for 2009
