‘In the Penal Colony’ at Stan’s Cafe
| May 25, 2009 7:30 pm | to | May 27, 2009 11:00 pm |
In a disused warehouse, we find an elaborate and tortuous execution machine, and with it, the officer who is soon to use it. In this dark and adventurous play, adapted by Steven Berkoff, we explore the themes of torture, exploitation and social change which have come directly from the recesses of Franz Kafka’s mind, adopting an intense psychological, physical style.
Being performed in the Stan’s Cafe warehouse – A E Harris Factory, James Street, the one used for their rice show, ‘Of All the People in All the World’. The performance is taking place on Monday 25th, Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th May at 7.30pm.
Tickets £5 concessions, £7 full.
